Alaska Interscholastic Activity Administrators Association

The AKIAAA is a voluntary association of public and Private high Schools which was established by and is responsible to its members.  We are committed to improving the governance of activities within the state of Alaska in cooperation with the Alaska Schools Activities Association (ASAA).

AKIAAA meets quarterly to receive input from members, discuss current topics and to develop continuing education opportunities.

Vision Statement 

The AKIAAA will provide activity administrators with the knowledge and skills required to administer the highest quality education based activity programs.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Alaska Interscholastic Activity Administrators Association (AKIAAA) is to provide professional development opportunities for its members through the support and promotion of “educational values” in interscholastic activities.  The members of the AKIAAA are committed to providing quality activity experiences for all students through positive working relationships with educational leaders and alliances.  The AIAAA will Provide support for interscholastic activities, which enrich the education-based athletics and activities of Alaska high schools, in a fair, diverse, and equitable manner.

Objectives:

  1. To foster high standards of professionalism and ethics.
  2. To promote cooperation and sportsmanship among schools.
  3. To provide an exchange of ideas and understanding of the administration of high school activities. 
  4. To promote good will and camaraderie among activity administrators of the State of Alaska.
  5. To encourage and promote athletic and activity programs that will provide the most participation possible. 
  6. To provide Professional development opportunities, education, and training to Activity Administrators.
  7. To Foster a partnership with the Alaska Schools Activities Association to provide support for activity administrators.
  8. To promote participation at the national level in the NIAAA.
  9. To promote the value of education-based athletics.
  10. Collaborate with coaches’ associations.
  11. Create networking opportunities among members.
